The DJI Mic Mini 2 is a compact wireless audio solution designed for content creators on the go. This specific kit, including a transmitter, a mobile receiver, and a charging case, offers exceptional portability.
Thanks to its lightweight design and smart features like two-level noise cancellation and auto-limiter, this system ensures reliable and clear audio capture for your vlogs, interviews, or smartphone video productions.
The DJI Mic Mini 2 stands out for its ultra-lightweight design, with the transmitter weighing approximately 11 g. This compact format facilitates daily use while maintaining a sleek aesthetic. The transmitters are equipped with interchangeable magnetic front covers, allowing for simple and quick visual customization by lifting the cover from the bottom groove of the housing.
For transport and maintenance, the system is designed for all-in-one storage. The charging case, whose standard model weighs about 159.3 g, helps protect components during travel. It is recommended not to stack elements inside the case to avoid potential damage to the receiver, thus ensuring the longevity of the equipment.
Audio capture is based on an omnidirectional polar pattern, capable of picking up sound details from multiple sources. The system includes three vocal tone presets selectable via the DJI Mimo app: Normal for a balanced render, Rich for bass accentuation, and Bright for clarity optimization. A safety track can be enabled to prevent data loss during critical recordings.
Signal reliability is reinforced by an auto-limiter that prevents audio clipping when input is too high. Furthermore, two-level noise cancellation is available: the Basic level is suitable for quiet indoor spaces, while the Intense level is intended for noisier environments. The frequency response varies from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, or 100 Hz to 20 kHz with the low-cut filter.
The DJI Mic Mini 2 offers great flexibility through its mobile receiver or standard receiver, ensuring compatibility with cameras via a 3.5 mm TRS cable, as well as with phones, tablets, and computers. To simplify workflow, OsmoAudio technology allows a direct Bluetooth connection between the transmitter and specific DJI products, such as the Osmo Pocket 3 or Osmo Action 6, without the need for an additional receiver.
Connection management supports the mixing of multiple sources from different generations of devices. It is possible to connect up to two transmitters simultaneously depending on the type of receiver used. Users should consult the official compatibility lists to verify specific interoperability between transmitters and the various receivers in the range, including Mic, Mic 2, and Mic 3 models.
Transmission range depends on the hardware configuration used. When paired with the DJI Mic Mini receiver, the system can reach a maximum distance of 400 meters in optimal conditions, meaning an open environment without obstacles or interference. This wireless protocol uses a frequency of 2.400 to 2.4835 GHz with an equivalent isotropically radiated power of less than 20 dBm.
Using the mobile receiver, the range varies: it is limited to 300 meters in green light mode with two compatible transmitters, and drops to 200 meters in blue light mode when using a combination of mixed DJI Mic range transmitters. These measurements are valid only outdoors, without obstruction, and out of reach of any electromagnetic interference that could affect the stability of the wireless link.
The system incorporates power-saving mechanisms, including five intelligent modes aimed at optimizing Li-ion battery usage. The transmitter has a battery life of up to 11.5 hours, while the receiver offers approximately 10.5 hours of operation. These durations are based on tests performed without noise cancellation, during short-range recordings in controlled conditions and without interference.
The charging case allows for extending usage up to 48 hours in total. The full charging time of the components varies depending on the hardware used, i.e., approximately 70 minutes for the transmitters and 100 minutes for the receiver, using a charger compliant with 5 V/2 A recommendations. The charging case can perform approximately 3.6 full cycles for a set consisting of two transmitters and one receiver.
