The DJI Mic Mini 2S (1 TX + 1 Mobile RX + Charging Case) is an ultra-compact wireless microphone system designed to provide professional audio quality with great ease of use for solo content creators.
Featuring a lightweight transmitter and a mobile receiver, this kit enables secure sound capture thanks to 32-bit float internal recording, avoiding the risk of clipping in post-production.
The system stands out with its OsmoAudio connectivity, allowing direct use with select DJI devices, and an included charging case, ensuring extended battery life and secure storage for your travels.
The DJI Mic Mini 2S features a compact architecture, with a transmitter weighing approximately 12 g. Its lightweight structure allows for easy attachment to clothing, optimized by interchangeable magnetic front covers. The kit comes with a charging case designed to hold the transmitters, receiver, and various accessories, facilitating transport and equipment maintenance during professional trips.
The device prioritizes an intuitive interface based on a combination of a dial and buttons. The components are designed to withstand operating temperature ranges from -10 to 45 °C. The design also integrates efficient power management, with a full charge time of approximately 70 minutes for the units via the dedicated charging case, ensuring constant availability for long shoots.
The system offers 32-bit float internal recording, allowing for the preservation of a vast dynamic range and easier management of sound levels in post-production. This feature is complemented by 14.5 GB of internal storage, offering up to 28 hours of recording in 24-bit or 22 hours in 32-bit. An automatic backup option triggers when the receiver battery reaches a critical level.
For signal processing, the device integrates two-level AI noise reduction, capable of suppressing ambient noise while maintaining vocal clarity. Users can select three tone presets: Normal, Rich, or Bright. Additionally, adaptive gain control offers two modes: a limiter for sudden sound peaks and volume balancing to stabilize interviews or live broadcasts.
The DJI Mic Mini 2S supports an expanded setup with up to four transmitters connected simultaneously to a single receiver. Intergenerational connectivity allows mixing transmitters from the Mic Mini, Mic Mini 2, and Mic Mini 2S ranges. This versatility extends to cameras via a four-channel output, subject to the use of complementary accessories like the camera adapter, allowing for precise track separation during mixing.
The OsmoAudio ecosystem allows for direct connection between the transmitter and certain DJI products, such as the Osmo Pocket, Action, Nano, and 360 ranges, simplifying the workflow without requiring a receiver. For smartphones, the connection is established via Bluetooth or the mobile adapter, although native use of the phone's camera app is not supported during direct Bluetooth connection, limiting this interaction to third-party applications.
The workflow is structured for immediate efficiency, with the system being ready to use without requiring an activation process. Internal recordings can be configured via the DJI Mimo app or the device interface to be saved either as an original file or in an algorithm-optimized version, including low-cut filter and tone presets. The charging case also allows for internal data copying to a computer.
Transmission range varies depending on the configuration: it reaches 400 m when the DJI Mic Mini 2S receiver is paired with Mic Mini range transmitters. With a mobile receiver, the range is 300 m, or 200 m when used simultaneously with DJI Mic 2 or Mic 3 transmitters. These values, measured in an open environment without obstruction or interference, serve as a theoretical reference for planning shoots.
Total runtime reaches 40 hours using a charged charging case, in short-range recording conditions, without noise reduction or internal recording enabled. The transmitter and receiver each have their own runtime of approximately 11 hours and 10 hours respectively, measured under controlled conditions with transmitters connected to a camera via a 3.5 mm cable.
Fast charging functionality is built-in, offering up to 1 hour of use after only 5 minutes of charging for the transmitter or receiver when their battery is below 25 %. The mobile receiver, meanwhile, can be powered by the connected smartphone, or recharged simultaneously with the phone if an external power source is plugged into the receiver's USB-C port, thus avoiding any interruption during long shoots.
