An aerial photograph shows a place from one angle. A mapping mission plans the image capture needed to build a usable representation of the whole site. Power Drone carries out surveys for orthophotos, 3D models and point clouds.

Whether you are a developer, an engineering consultant, a project owner or a site operator, we plan the mission around your project and the people who will use the data. The right output starts with the task at hand: understanding a site, preparing a study or explaining its layout.

See the whole site with an orthophoto

An orthophoto combines images into a geometrically corrected, top-down representation. It makes buildings, roads, open areas and other features visible as they were at the time of the survey.

It provides a useful way to explain a site's layout, identify project areas or share a common visual reference with different teams. Where a site has changed, an up-to-date overview offers a clearer starting point than photographs taken on different dates or from different angles.

Understand shapes and space with a 3D model

A three-dimensional representation helps reveal a building's visible form, the relationships between its parts and the overall site layout. It can help present a site or support discussions about a project.

A model intended for visualisation and data intended for measurement have different requirements. Tell us whether you need to present an existing site, examine its layout or provide a base for a technical specialist. We build the proposal around that use.

A survey planned around your project

We connect the work on site with the way the files will be used. That means choosing outputs for their value to your project, rather than their visual impact alone.

  1. A direct conversation about the data you need

Your technical contact can discuss requirements with our in-house team before the survey. Together, we establish the area to cover and how the results will be used.

  2. The right survey setup

Our range of recent platforms lets us select equipment for the site and the views required. We consider the surfaces and features that need to be represented.

  3. An informed approach to changing technology

Our close contact with manufacturers keeps us familiar with the equipment available. We combine that knowledge with practical drone mission experience to plan your survey.

A terrain model in three dimensions

Provide data for technical teams

A point cloud represents reconstructed surfaces as a set of points in three dimensions. It is a distinct output from a visual model or an orthophoto.

If your engineering team uses a particular software package or working environment, share its requirements before the mission. Outputs, spatial references, formats and checking criteria need to be agreed in advance. This helps identify the data that will actually support the next stage of your project.

For stockpile volumes and other volume calculations, see our Topographic surveys and volume calculations service. Construction progress monitoring provides a way to plan repeat surveys when you need to compare different dates.

A clear process, from survey area to deliverables

  1. Define the area and purpose

Tell us about the site, the areas to cover, the decision the data should support and the people who will receive it. Existing plans and data help establish the starting point.

  2. Plan the image capture

We review access, obstacles, site operations and the surfaces to be represented when organising the survey.

  3. Agree on the outputs

The proposal sets out the selected deliverables and how they can serve your needs, along with the spatial references and checks required for the mission.

A survey shaped by conditions on the ground

Surface visibility and site layout matter when planning a survey. Flag any hidden areas, machinery movements and changes expected before the visit. These details help us capture the state you want to document.

Power Drone is based in Luxembourg. We also assess projects in France and Belgium according to their location and the scope requested.

Before your mission

How does an orthophoto differ from an aerial photograph?

An orthophoto uses geometric image processing to create a cartographic representation. A single photograph retains the perspective from which it was taken.

What accuracy can I expect?

Requirements depend on the intended use, site, method and planned checks. We discuss them before the mission rather than applying one accuracy figure to every survey.

Do I need every type of file?

Deliverables are chosen to suit your project. Tell us what your team needs and share any requirements from your consultants so we can agree on the files to provide.

What would help your team understand the site?

Send us the location, survey area and intended use of the data so we can plan your mapping mission.
