Decks, superstructures and other external surfaces on the same vessel can have different maintenance needs. Heights, existing equipment and access from the surroundings influence how cleaning is organised.

Power Drone assesses and carries out this service with its in-house team, based in Luxembourg. We prepare the request with the owner, operator or person responsible for the vessel to identify accessible above-water surfaces and select the setup.

Define the external surfaces to maintain

The request may cover deck areas, superstructures or particular elevated external surfaces. Locate them on photographs so we can understand what needs cleaning and the equipment around it.

Material and coating guide the method. Painted surfaces, glazing and technical components call for different considerations. We plan the cleaning from the available surface information and its known condition.

The proposed scope concerns accessible above-water surfaces. Underwater areas require a different service and must be distinguished from your external cleaning request.

Assess the surroundings

A vessel alongside a quay or at a maintenance site has access conditions specific to that location. Dimensions, obstacles, nearby vessels and usable ground space need to be understood before arrangements are selected.

Equipment positions and possible approaches to the surfaces are planned with your on-site contact. Views from several sides help identify masts, railings, antennas and other fittings.

  • Locate the vessel and its immediate surroundings.
  • Identify priority surfaces and their height.
  • Locate obstacles and equipment near the areas to treat.
  • Explain access and the space available for the setup.

An assignment planned around your vessel

Cleaning is prepared with the people who know the vessel's surfaces and surroundings. We then choose the equipment for that scope.

A ground-based cleaning station
  1. A detailed discussion of the surfaces

We start with the materials, coatings and reported deposits. Maintenance documents and your technical contact's observations help us plan the method.

  2. A setup assessed alongside access

Vessel geometry and the space available for the setup guide the choice from our drone platforms and cleaning equipment.

  3. An in-house team that follows the preparation

You deal directly with the people organising and carrying out the assignment. The vessel's location and access conditions remain central to those discussions.

Agree the method with your technical contact

Visible deposits and care guidance provide a basis for discussing the intended result. Pressure, application method and any products are selected for the agreed surfaces.

Tell us about fragile coatings, recent repairs and sensitive equipment nearby. Surface preparation and management of the work are defined with the person responsible for the vessel and the work site.

For a fleet or several vessels, each one should be identified with its position and requirements. This supports a coherent plan without treating different configurations as identical.

Turn a maintenance request into a clear assignment

  1. Introduce the vessel

Send its location, known dimensions and general photographs. Add references for the decks, superstructures or external areas concerned.

  2. Explain the constraints

We discuss surfaces, access, equipment and availability conditions. The proposal defines the accessible areas and intended approach.

  3. Plan your follow-up

If you need photographs of the treated areas for maintenance records, the image content and location references are agreed in the quote.

Our team is based in Luxembourg. Feasibility and arrangements are assessed according to the vessel's location, including requests in France or Belgium.

Before your mission

Can you clean the hull below the waterline?

This service concerns external surfaces above the water. It does not include underwater cleaning or full hull maintenance.

Can every deck area be reached by drone?

Access depends on the vessel's geometry and equipment. The selected surfaces are defined using views of the vessel and its surroundings.

Can I target just the superstructures?

Yes. Mark the priority areas on photographs. The quote then specifies the areas and proposed method for those surfaces.

Where can the cleaning take place?

Tell us where the vessel can be made available. Access, equipment space and site conditions allow the assignment to be assessed.

Show us the surfaces on your vessel

Include the location, photographs and above-water areas to clean. Specify known materials, access and your technical contact.
