Emergency response and post-incident inspection. We operate throughout Luxembourg and within a 50 km radius beyond our borders.
The DJI Dock 4 enables automated drone operations, ensuring deployment 24h/24 and 7d/7.
Equipped with an automatic battery replacement system in 25 seconds, this solution optimizes turnaround time between flights.
Designed for complex environments, it integrates advanced thermal management and weather protection.
The DJI Dock 4 transforms the management of urgent or continuous missions. By eliminating the need for human intervention on-site, it allows the drone to launch immediately upon opening the cover. The complete cycle, including battery replacement, takes less than 45 seconds, allowing tasks to resume without prolonged delays related to conventional charging.
Its robust structure supports varied weather conditions. Thanks to a compressor-based climate control system, the station maintains optimal internal temperatures, while automatic preheating protects batteries during cold weather use.
The station relies on the DJI O4 base station to ensure stable, low-latency video transmission. It also allows for secure data management with AES-256 encryption at every step, from drone to cloud, protecting sensitive information from interception.
The Dock 4 includes physical security features, such as internal and external surveillance cameras with auxiliary lighting, offering full visibility of the operation site. Lightning protection, compliant with EN 61643-11 and IEC 61643-21 standards, enhances equipment resilience against environmental hazards.
The DJI Dock 4 enables critical operational continuity via the "Task Relay" concept. This feature allows two aircraft present on a project to perform automatic rotations over predefined points of interest. While one drone is in flight to monitor, the other device remains on standby in a station, ready to take over to maintain uninterrupted situational awareness. This device is particularly valuable during emergency responses where the video feed must not be interrupted, thus eliminating charging delays. Synchronization is driven by DJI FlightHub 2 software, which manages mission scheduling autonomously, allowing operators to define periodic workflows including data collection, modeling, and analysis without direct human intervention on the field [L24-L31].
Installation of the DJI Dock 4 requires technical precision to ensure reliability. It is mandatory to use the DJI O4 base station, which acts as the communication pivot, notably via Ethernet or the DJI 2 cellular dongle for 4G access. For complex deployments, such as near skyscrapers or in areas with obstructions, it is recommended to install the base station at high points to optimize signal quality. Equipment must be anchored via four provided expansion bolts. Particular attention should be paid to Ethernet cabling, which must be outdoor-type (Cat 6 or higher) with an external diameter of 5.5 to 6.5 mm, using the included waterproof connectors. Overall sealing is IP56 certified, requiring correct tightening of all port caps and seal checks to maintain this protection against environmental infiltration [L167-L177, L287-L300].
Data security is natively integrated into every step of the DJI workflow. During battery replacement, the drone automatically transfers flight data to the station via high-speed Wi-Fi reaching 80 MB/s. Generated data, whether business, flight, or device-related, is immediately encrypted. Transmission between drone and dock uses the TLS 1.2 protocol with AES-256 encryption, while cloud uploads exploit HTTPS and WSS protocols. Storage also benefits from AES-256-CBC encryption for sensitive information. In case of end-of-life or site change, the system allows secure data wiping at the account, organization, or device level, including deletion of local logs and cache via DJI Pilot, ensuring strict compliance regarding data protection [L177-L188, L332-L345].
Optimal operation depends on compliance with physical constraints. The dock can store up to three batteries simultaneously to ensure the replacement cycle; it is forbidden to exceed this number to ensure proper mechanism function. In the event of a power outage, an internal backup battery offers approximately 4.5 hours of autonomy, but this reserve does not support energy-intensive functions like active drone charging or climate control. At extreme temperatures (-40°C), the automatic preheating system is vital to keep batteries in a viable operating range. It is also noted that the use of mmWave radar and certain transmission frequencies may be limited according to local regulations, requiring prior verification of authorizations in the planned installation area [L256-L265, L274-L280, L395-L400].
